Workstaff Secures $1.6M CAD Seed Funding for Workforce Software

Workstaff, a Montreal-based provider of workforce management tools for businesses that manage temporary and flexible staff, has successfully secured $1.6M CAD in seed financing. The funding round was completed in the second quarter of 2024 and saw investments from Impulsion PME, a Gouvernement du Québec program managed by Investissement Québec, and Anges Québec. This new capital injection will allow Workstaff to further its expansion into global markets and improve its already comprehensive product offering, which assists companies in easily locating, scheduling, and managing temporary and flexible staff.

Industries that heavily rely on temporary and flexible workers, such as hospitality and food services, have been particularly impacted by labor shortages. This has had a detrimental effect on profitability, growth, and the overall economy. Labor shortages are expected to pose a significant challenge for 25% of all Canadian businesses in 2024.

Workstaff's solutions, which encompass staff onboarding, booking and scheduling, integrated messaging, and open shift publishing, enable companies with flexible staff to more effectively manage their operations and strengthen relationships with their temporary staff workforce, ultimately enhancing efficiency and retention.

"Workstaff's platform distinguishes itself with features that address fundamental issues related to temporary staffing, including an innovative 'offer' publishing system that enables companies to efficiently manage staff across extensive databases using proprietary technology," stated Nick Dauchez, CEO of Workstaff.

This seed round will support Workstaff's ongoing development of a marketplace focused on matching temporary work with available workers. The Workstaff marketplace will help alleviate labor shortages by empowering companies to swiftly locate and engage talent, providing real-time access to labor, and reducing the time spent on finding and onboarding flexible staff.
