SCHOTT TO PLUS® represents an advanced header packaging
solution that revolutionizes fiber-optic data transmission speeds. These
hermetically sealed headers, crafted using glass-to-metal sealing technology,
achieve an unparalleled transmission speed of 50 gigabytes per second. This
speed doubles existing capabilities, transmitting twice as much data through a
single fiber. Moreover, they offer cost-effective benefits for semiconductor
and data communication manufacturers.
Dr. Frank Heinricht, CEO of SCHOTT, commended the innovation
as a testament to the diligent efforts of the company's extensive global
research team. He stated that this innovation, among others, positions SCHOTT
as a pioneering contributor to the next generation of technology.
Having originated in 1963, the R&D 100 Awards program
spotlights the top 100 revolutionary technologies of the year. SCHOTT, a
multiple award recipient, including their diverse laser glasses innovations,
has continually demonstrated its commitment to pioneering advancements in
various industries.
