Commit Biologics to Present at Complement Conf.

Commit Biologics, a leading company in utilizing the complement system to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases, has announced that it will be presenting a poster at the 16th International Conference on Complement Therapeutics. The poster will showcase important data regarding Commit's innovative Bispecific Complement Engaging (BiCE™) platform. The conference will take place in Loutraki, Ancient Corinth, Greece, from June 11-16, 2024.

The poster, titled "BiCE™ – An antibody platform to potentiate complement activation for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases," will be presented by Dr. Nick S. Laursen, Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of Commit Biologics. The data presented will highlight the optimization of the BiCE™ platform and demonstrate that Commit's second-generation BiCE™ molecules exhibit superior complement-mediated cell killing compared to other technologies. This groundbreaking technology has a unique mechanism of action and holds great potential for the development of highly effective therapeutics for cancer and autoimmune diseases.

The complement system, a crucial part of the body's immune system, has remained largely untapped for therapeutic purposes until now. Commit Biologics has developed the innovative Bispecific Complement Engaging (BiCE™) platform, which utilizes validated antibodies to activate the complement system and selectively eliminate cancer cells or cells involved in autoimmune diseases. The BiCE™ platform employs bispecific single domain antibodies, with one arm recognizing the complement protein C1q and the other arm targeting a specific antigen, such as a cancer-specific antigen. This approach efficiently recruits C1, leading to potent complement activation and effective treatment outcomes.
