Napatech Introduces 400Gbps SmartNIC with Intel Agilex FPGA

Napatech™ has unveiled its latest achievement - the availability of its first 400Gbps programmable Smart Network Interface Cards (SmartNICs) using Intel Agilex® 7 FPGAs. These SmartNICs are designed to excel in security, cloud services, network monitoring, and recording applications. The NT400 SmartNIC platform, based on Intel FPGA SmartNIC N6000-PL Platform, utilizes a PCIe Gen 4 16-lane host interface, enabling full-duplex 2x100Gbps traffic flow between network ports and host applications. The platform, fitted with two QSFP56 network ports, supports up to 2x200G traffic and offers configuration flexibility for various network link speeds.

Napatech's software packages, such as Link-Capture™ for network monitoring, Link-Virtualization™ for cloud services, and Link-Inline™ for applications like 5G User Plane Function, complement the hardware. The platform's core, the Intel Agilex 7 FPGA F-Tile chiplet, provides a configurable Ethernet protocol stack for rates from 10G to 400G. Napatech's SmartNICs are positioned to thrive in the growing SmartNIC market, with their optimized hardware and software capabilities contributing to network offload efficiency.
